About This Document
This Legal & Compliance Overview explains the business structure, social-impact donation model, customer policies, intellectual-property practices, and operational standards of United In Style.
United In Style is committed to operating transparently, ethically, and responsibly so customers, supporters, partners, and community members can clearly understand how our business operates and how our donation program works.
This overview should be read together with our separate Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy, Returns & Refunds Policy, and Terms of Service.
1. Business Structure
United In Style is a for-profit brand with an integrated social-impact donation program.
United In Style is not a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Purchases made through United In Style are retail purchases and are not charitable contributions made by the customer. Customers should not consider the purchase price to be a tax-deductible charitable donation unless expressly stated otherwise and permitted by applicable law.
As part of our business model, United In Style uses business resources to provide clothing and other essential items to individuals and families in need.
2. Donation Model
United In Style operates under our “1 Purchase = 1 Donation” commitment.
For every qualifying purchase, United In Style activates at least one donation commitment. This means United In Style will provide at least one clothing item or essential item for distribution to an individual or family in need.
A qualifying purchase generally means a completed and paid retail order that has not been canceled before the donation commitment is activated.
What We Donate
United In Style-branded merchandise sold to customers is not the merchandise distributed through our donation program.
Donation items are sourced separately and may include:
- New clothing purchased specifically for donation
- New overstock inventory obtained from third-party sources
- New liquidation or closeout apparel
- Essential items purchased using United In Style business funds
Donated items are intended to be clean, usable, appropriate, and suitable for distribution.
Donation Distribution
Donations may be distributed individually or in larger batches.
Distribution often occurs on a weekly basis, although timing may vary depending on:
- Inventory availability
- Community needs
- Partner availability
- Transportation and logistics
- Emergency situations
- Distribution schedules
The type of donated item, recipient, distribution location, or community partner may vary.
Changes to distribution methods do not eliminate a donation commitment that has already been activated by a qualifying purchase.
If a donation has already been allocated or completed, a later customer return or refund does not require that donation to be reversed.
United In Style may modify the donation program for future purchases. Any material changes to the program will be disclosed on our website.
3. Transparency & Accountability
United In Style believes our social-impact commitments should be clear, transparent, and verifiable.
We publicly document donation activity so customers and supporters can see examples of the clothing and essential items provided through our donation program.
Public impact updates may include:
- Donation dates
- Photographs of donated items
- Donation quantities or item counts
- Donation preparation and packaging
- Distribution updates
- Community or partner acknowledgments
- Monthly, seasonal, or emergency-relief updates

Donation reporting may be grouped into batches rather than matched publicly to individual customer purchases.
United In Style-branded merchandise sold to customers is not the merchandise distributed through our donation program. Donation items are sourced separately in accordance with the Donation Model described in Section 2.
We respect the privacy and dignity of the individuals and families receiving assistance. We do not intentionally publish identifiable photographs or personal information about donation recipients without appropriate consent.
Our goal is to provide customers and the public with a visible record of our impact while protecting the privacy and dignity of the communities we serve.
4. Privacy & Customer Data
United In Style respects customer privacy.
Customer information is not sold.
Personal information may be used for legitimate business purposes including:
- Processing and fulfilling orders
- Providing customer support
- Fraud prevention and security
- Website operations
- Customer-requested communications
- Marketing communications where the customer has opted in or where otherwise permitted by law
Payments are processed through third-party payment providers using their applicable security and encryption practices.

5. Returns & Refunds
United In Style offers 30-day free returns on eligible merchandise.
The 30-day return period begins on the date the order is delivered.
Returned merchandise generally must be:
- Unworn
- Unused
- In the required condition
- Returned in accordance with the instructions provided in our Returns & Refunds Policy
If a return shipment is necessary, United In Style will provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to the customer.
Certain products may be excluded from returns when the restriction is clearly disclosed before purchase or where otherwise permitted by law.
Refund timing, return methods, exchanges, and applicable exclusions are explained in our Returns & Refunds Policy.
If a donation connected to an order has already been allocated or completed, the donation will not be reversed solely because the customer later returns the purchased product.
This does not reduce the amount of an otherwise eligible customer refund.
Nothing in this policy limits any consumer rights that cannot legally be limited under applicable law.
6. Shipping & Delivery
Orders are generally processed within 2–5 business days, unless a different processing timeframe is disclosed on the applicable product page, at checkout, or in our Shipping Policy.
During holidays, high-demand periods, product launches, or special promotions, processing may take up to approximately 7 business days.
Estimated delivery dates are estimates and may be affected by circumstances outside United In Style’s direct control, including:
- Carrier delays
- Weather conditions
- Holidays
- Delivery destination
- Transportation interruptions
- Other shipping-related events
If an order is delayed, damaged, lost in transit, or marked as delivered but cannot be located, customers should contact United In Style using the procedures provided in our Shipping Policy.
United In Style will assist customers with eligible shipping concerns and carrier claims where appropriate and will fulfill its obligations under applicable law.

7. Ethical Partners & Vendors
United In Style seeks to work with reputable vendors and suppliers.
We expect vendors and suppliers to comply with applicable laws and standards concerning:
- Labor practices
- Workplace safety
- Product safety
- Ethical business conduct
Items distributed through our donation program are reviewed for suitability and are intended to be clean, usable, and appropriate for distribution.
8. Community Partners
United In Style may distribute donations directly or work with organizations including:
- Shelters
- Schools
- Community organizations
- Relief groups
- Mutual-aid organizations
- Other community partners
Partners may change depending on real-time community needs, geographic location, availability, emergency conditions, the type of items available, or other operational considerations.
United In Style reserves the right to modify or rotate community partners as circumstances require.
Reference to a particular organization does not automatically imply sponsorship, endorsement, affiliation, or a permanent partnership unless such a relationship has been expressly established.
When a particular promotion specifically identifies an organization as a beneficiary, United In Style will structure and disclose that promotion in accordance with applicable requirements.
9. Photography & Media Use
United In Style may document donation and distribution activities for transparency, accountability, and impact reporting.
Donation documentation may include:
- Clothing and essential items
- Item counts
- Boxes and packaging
- Donation preparation
- Distribution locations
- Partner acknowledgments
- Volunteers or representatives where appropriate
United In Style does not intentionally publish identifiable images of donation recipients without appropriate consent.
Where necessary, faces or other identifying information may be blurred, obscured, excluded, or otherwise protected.
10. Intellectual Property & Trademark Protection
The United In Style name, trademarks, logos, original artwork, graphics, website content, photographs, designs, slogans, and other original brand materials may be protected by applicable trademark, copyright, and intellectual-property laws.
United In Style reserves all rights in its intellectual property.
Unauthorized Brand Use
United In Style trademarks, branding, or original materials may not be used in a manner that:
- Creates a likelihood of confusion regarding the source of goods or services
- Falsely suggests affiliation with United In Style
- Falsely suggests sponsorship, approval, or endorsement by United In Style
- Impersonates United In Style
- Is used to market unauthorized or infringing merchandise
- Infringes United In Style’s trademark, copyright, or other legal rights
Unauthorized use may include use in:
- Business names
- Registered entities
- Websites
- Domain names
- Social-media accounts or usernames
- Apparel or merchandise
- Advertising
- Marketing materials
- Promotional content
Nothing in this section is intended to prohibit lawful uses protected under applicable law.
Enforcement
When United In Style reasonably believes its intellectual-property rights are being infringed, it may take appropriate enforcement action.
Such action may include:
- Contacting the responsible party
- Sending cease-and-desist communications
- Requesting marketplace or platform takedowns
- Seeking damages where legally available
- Pursuing other remedies available under trademark, copyright, unfair-competition, or other applicable laws
United In Style reserves all rights and remedies available under applicable law.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, United In Style will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the website or purchase or use of our products.
Where legally permitted, United In Style’s aggregate liability arising from a particular purchase will not exceed the amount paid for the product giving rise to the claim.
United In Style is not responsible for misuse of donated items after those items have been transferred to an independent recipient or partner organization, except where responsibility cannot legally be excluded.
Nothing in this section excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
12. Terms Acceptance
Use of the United In Style website and purchases made through the website are subject to the applicable policies and terms presented to customers.

Where affirmative consent is required by law, appropriate consent will be obtained through the applicable website, transaction, or checkout process.
13. Policy Updates
United In Style may update this Legal & Compliance Overview as our business, website, donation program, policies, or legal requirements change.
The current version will be made publicly available on our website and will include an updated revision date.
Material changes will generally apply to future transactions and activities unless applicable law requires otherwise.
14. Disputes, Indemnification & Governing Law
Limitation of Claims
Nothing in these policies requires a customer or website visitor to waive any legal right that cannot lawfully be waived.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, claims relating to United In Style products, services, website use, or other activities will be subject to the limitations contained in our applicable policies and Terms of Service.
Assumption of Risk
Use of the United In Style website and participation in voluntary promotions or activities are undertaken subject to the terms and conditions disclosed for those activities.
United In Style makes no warranties or guarantees beyond those expressly stated or required under applicable law.
Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, users agree to indemnify and hold United In Style harmless from third-party claims, damages, losses, liabilities, or reasonable expenses arising from:
- Unlawful misuse of the website
- Violation of applicable terms or policies
- Infringement of another person’s rights
- Unauthorized or unlawful use of United In Style intellectual property
Governing Law
Except where applicable law provides otherwise, these policies and any dispute arising from them will be governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Where legally permitted, disputes may be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction located within Virginia.
Nothing in this provision eliminates any consumer right or legal remedy that cannot lawfully be waived.
